Chartwell Classic Oakville, a well-appointed, full-service retirement residence in Oakville, Ontario, requires a Director of Community Relations. The ideal candidate will be a cheerful person who will coordinate activity programs to meet the residents’ interests and needs. The incumbent will have a minimum of three (3) years of experience with activity planning and excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills. Experience in a retirement residence setting would be preferred. A degree or diploma in the recreation/activation field is an asset.

 

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Identifying and assessing the residents’ needs to develop fulfilling activities;
  • Encouraging resident participation in programs;
  • Creating monthly activity calendars in a timely manner;
  • Coordinating a meaningful volunteer program;
  • Promoting Chartwell Classic Oakville while developing and fostering partnerships within the community;
  • Assisting and supporting other department managers, including the marketing team, as needed.
